Cushman Military Scooter

WWII Airborne Scotter

During WWII, the company's name and products spread around the world. Over 15,000 of its two and three-wheeled vehicles were manufactured for all branches of the armed forces. They were used in camps, bases and ports worldwide.

the Airborne Scotters, as they were called, had a parachute hook built into the machine. This scooter was heavier than a regular scooter as well as having bigger gears in the transmission. They were made of heavey iron, solidly welded together. They had to do that because they had to be strong enough to withstand damage if the parachute didn't open. It be could be bent, but at least it would still be drivable.
